We've got a big batch of birthdays to celebrate this week, so let's get right to it! December 27 belongs to Emilie de Ravin, whose extended DiD resumé tends to consist of smaller scenes, like this back-to-back chair tie with JoAnna Garcia Swisher from Once Upon a Time.
December 28 kicks off with Swedish actress Noomi Rapace. While it may not be her best-known DiD moment (thanks to the original Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), we wanted to make sure you hadn't missed her bonkers wraparound tape gag scene from Rupture. Speaking of "different" gags, check out birthday girl Sienna Miller's short but sweet scene in Live by Night. And while the 1995 reboot of Get Smart didn't last long, its final episode did give us a fun little medical bondage scene with Elaine Hendrix.
For December 29, we were all set for a fond remembrance of Mary Tyler Moore—but then we realized that our only edit of her best scene by far, from Surfside 6, had been cut from our launch batch because of its low resolution. In honor of the occasion, we couldn't resist posting it anyway while we hunt for an upgrade! That same day brought us Alison Brie, she of the red-hot TV and film career but woefully short DiD file. This clip from Community primarily features Gillian Jacobs, but stay to the end for 10-second glimpse of Brie tied and cleave gagged in an awkward show-within-a-show.
December 30 is a huge day for birthdays, including ScreenTies's own Annie Witchway, for whose killer design work we're immensely thankful. We've also got three DiD stalwarts who can each boast at least 18 scenes in Brian's database: Kristin Kreuk, Caity Lotz, and Eliza Dushku.
Lotz's signature scene has to be her long, intense guest appearance on Stalker. As for Kreuk, we can't fault her energetic struggling in a second-season episode of Beauty and the Beast. Meanwhile, Dushku is turning 40, so let's celebrate with Wrong Turn (see image above) and hand the coveted playlist slot to another impressive cleave-gag outing: 2016's Eloise. And let's not forget Lucy Punch, whose investigator character gets an unwelcome wheelchair ride while bound and gagged in her final appearance on the British series Hexed.
For New Year's Eve, we'll admit that our Wynonna Earp collection could use some work at the moment—but we can still offer a couple enjoyable scenes with Melanie Scrofano, including her back-to-back tie with Rebecca Liddiard on Frankie Drake Mysteries.
The new year itself rings in with a birthday for accomplished Australian Essie Davis, who wound up cleave gagged in mixed company as the heroine of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Simone Kessell is celebrating today as well, and we present to you her scene from Sum of Existence. (We're planning to split this long clip by actress eventually, but for now, you can find Ms. Kessell's appearance at the 6:47 mark.)
We end the week with two birthdays for January 2. Tia Carrere, definitely...but which scene? How about short but sweet: Showdown in Little Tokyo it is. And Kate Bosworth wraps things up for us with a few scenes of interest in The Warrior's Way. See you next week!
