It's another crowded week on the birthday front, so let's dive right into January 31 with Kelly Lynch and Kerry Washington. Ms. Lynch's most notable claim to DiD fame is on the "mother" end of a mother/daughter tape gag scene in Gregg Araki's bizarro 2010 film Kaboom, while for Ms. Washington, it's a memorable 2015 episode of Scandal.
February kicks in with Sherilyn Fenn, and we've got a few of her scenes to share, including her three-episode stretch from Twin Peaks (even though much of it is merely close-ups on a computer monitor). Then there's Rachelle Lefevre: if you haven't caught her big scene on Under the Dome (see above), we can heartily recommend the click. And for something completely different, we'll wrap up February 1 with Ronda Rousey in a goofy scene from WWE Royal Rumble in which her competitor uses that rarest of all pro wrestling moves: the Cleavegagger.
On February 2, we offer a moment of silence for Farrah Fawcett, who would have been 74. She was never gagged in a DiD scene and was more peril-resistant than we might have hoped on a show like Charlie's Angels, but one of her several guest characters on The Six Million Dollar Man did get herself into quite a fix (from which she's rescued by Lee Majors, her real-life husband at the time).
February 2 also brings us a couple round-number birthdays, starting with Emily Rose (40), who wound up tied to a post in a cute top for quite a while on Haven. But it's acclaimed English actress Gemma Arterton (35) who became an instant DiD legend with her marathon performance in The Disappearance of Alice Creed—which we not-so-coincidentally just celebrated (along with its equally intense Dutch and German remakes) with a pair of brand new HD clips in a front-page feature of its very own.
February 3 is another busy day, with four birthdays to celebrate. We begin with Blythe Danner, whose scenes in the 1974 TV movie Sidekicks surely make it eligible for "hidden gem" status. Next we have Maura Tierney, best known to DiD fans as the heroine-in-distress of another TV movie: 1999's Oxygen. Isla Fisher is turning 45; her big scene in 2015's Visions occurs while her character is extremely pregnant. And finally there's Bridget Regan, whose scenes to date are on the minor side but do include a decent chair tie in Agent Carter.
Gabrielle Anwar has February 4 all to herself, and based on her service to the DiD community across seven seasons of Burn Notice, we'd say that's more than fair. We've got local hero Sam's edits of all four of her B&G scenes from that show, though today we're featuring "Where There's Smoke," which features Laura Regan tied up alongside her as a bonus.
By sheer coincidence, "bonus damsels" play a role in our next couple clips as well! On February 5, while we'll always be thankful for Jennifer Jason Leigh's classic scene from The Hitcher (despite its unhappy ending), we decided to go with her longer, more recent scene from Annihilation, which also features Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson. And for Nora Zehetner's 40th birthday, we went with her guest appearance on She Spies, where all three regular heroines eventually find themselves in trouble as well.
We'll close this extra-long installment on January 6 with Crystal Reed and her big DiD moment on Teen Wolf, and we'll see you next week!
